Sport in Hall The onsite facilities available to residents are mainly located in and around Oldham House at the very centre of Halls. They include a Sports Hall, squash courts and a gym which are all accessible at any time during the day for students. Table tennis, pool, snooker and table-football are also available to the more laid-back, untailored athlete. Five minutes walk away is a large public park which has proved immensely popular for both the keen and casual sportsmen and women in Halls. It’s an ideal jogging location, a useful training area for any sport you may be pursuing and a perfect setting for massive communal games of football, Frisbee and touch-rugby. When the weather is fantastic, and you fancy some fresh air, grab some mates and a ball and head on down. The brand new mammoth Sports Centre in Trinity College, equipped with a 25 metre pool and a colossal gym will not leave you disappointed, especially because you’ve already paid your membership fee in your Registration payment! Sporting events occur throughout each term, such as basketball, football, Frisbee or squash tournaments, and depend on interest for their frequency. They’re well advertised throughout Halls, in the main reception, Oldham House and in each individual Block – so do pitch up, they’re good fun. If you are interested in pursuing any sport at Trinity or even outside it, and you aren’t sure where to begin or who to speak to, please feel free to contact the JCR Sports Officer. (
