 And here are just a few pieces of advice, observations and general warnings that we, the JCR,  picked up over the last year either through personal experience or by witnessing other's mistakes.  

  •  Don't swim in the ponds. You will probably get Hepatitis. Yes, there are fish in there.

 

  • Don't be the first person to Get a George Foreman grill.

 

  • Punch a hole in your key-card and hang it around your neck or put it on a key-ring or tie it to a belt loop -it will save you a lot of hassle.

 

  • There is a nurse in halls.

 

  • Brush your teeth in the shower it saves time.

 

  • DONT play with fire alarms. I will cost you money and everyone in your building will be giving you evil eyes at three in the morning when you have all been evacuated.

 

  • Clean your fridge at least once a fortnight.

 

  • Cycle to the Luas it's faster.

 

  • Don't cycle drunk.

 

  • Buy a decent bike lock.

 

  • Don't lock your bike to trees.

 

  • Drink on the Luas and they will kick you off.

 

  • Recycle, it'll make you feel better.

 

  • Open the windows in your apartment and room when you leave, trust me.

 

  • Try to remember to change your sheets.. you'll thank yourself for it.

 

 

  • Try to cook together it saves money and time.

 

  • Pizza boxes make great substitute plates.

 

  • Get to know your neighbours.

 

  • There are periodic room inspections so it’s best to keep both your room and your kitchen/living room in a fairly habitable condition…
